We have not used Udemy. There is no verdict on this page, no score, and no opinion about how it feels to work in — because we would be making that up. What we do instead.

Reasons to consider it
- The biggest general course marketplace — 28,000+ courses in the Personal Plan, or buy the single course you need and keep it forever
- Flexible pricing: subscribe from $13/mo, or wait for a discount and grab one course for ~$13–20
- Certification prep and AI-assisted coding exercises come with the Personal Plan
Reasons to look elsewhere
- Trustpilot sits at just 1.6 out of 5 across 1,963 reviews — complaints cluster on freezing pages and technical glitches, clunky navigation, and refund and support friction
- Anyone can publish, so quality is uneven: the individual course’s own rating matters far more than the Udemy brand
- The $199 list prices are rarely real — near-permanent discounts make headline prices meaningless
- Prices are localised by country, so what you pay depends on where you buy from
What the review score says
Udemy holds 1.6 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 1,963 reviews.
Trustpilot only (1.6 from 1,963 reviews). Udemy’s consumer listing on G2 has been removed — it now returns “no longer valid,” and only the separate Udemy Business product remains there, so we show no G2 figure. US prices checked 25 September 2026 via a US connection; Udemy displays your own country’s currency.
What we cannot tell you
How Udemy feels after a month of real use. Whether support actually answers when something breaks. Whether the workflow fits your specific case. Those need an account and real use, and we have not done that. Anyone publishing those answers without doing the work is guessing, and you deserve to know which is which.
We have not compared this against rivals yet
Udemy is the first product we have documented in online learning. A single product is not a comparison, so there is no category page for it yet — we will build one once we have read the pricing pages of its main competitors and can put them side by side on the same facts.
