Reasons to look elsewhere
- No fixed price — cost depends entirely on the tutor you choose, so budgeting means comparing rates yourself
- The most common complaint: unused prepaid lessons expire when a subscription renews, and some report dark-pattern auto-reactivation
- Refunds for unused credits draw criticism — keep your lesson balance low if you are unsure about continuing

Preply holds 4.4 on Trustpilot from more than 25,000 reviews — by far the biggest sample we have recorded, and a genuinely strong score. The recurring complaint is billing, not teaching: lessons expiring on renewal and friction cancelling. The tutoring itself reviews well; watch the subscription mechanics.
What we cannot tell you
How Preply feels after a month of real use. Whether support actually answers when something breaks. Whether the workflow fits your specific case. Those need an account and real use, and we have not done that. Anyone publishing those answers without doing the work is guessing, and you deserve to know which is which.
