Reasons to consider it
- Billed on active contacts in a month, not on audience size — a large but quiet follower list costs nothing extra
- Overage price drops sharply as you move up: $0.10 per contact on Essential, $0.004 on Advanced
- Rated 4.5 on G2 from 165 reviewers verified as business users
- Annual billing takes 30% off the Business and Advanced plans
Reasons to look elsewhere
- Free plan is 25 active contacts a month and carries a ManyChat watermark — no WhatsApp, SMS, email or broadcasts
- Trustpilot sits at 2.2 from 303 reviews with 45% at one star; complaints concentrate on being charged after cancelling and on reaching support
- Because billing follows conversations, a month that goes viral raises the bill rather than the plan
What the two review scores say
ManyChat holds 4.5 out of 5 on G2 from 165 reviews, and 2.2 out of 5 on Trustpilot from 303.
The gap here is the widest we have recorded. On G2, where reviewers are verified business users of the product, ManyChat scores 4.5 — people who use it rate the software well. On Trustpilot it scores 2.2, and reading those reviews the pattern is consistent: charges continuing after cancellation, difficulty reaching support about billing, and accounts suspended mid-campaign. Those are commercial and account-handling problems, not product problems, and G2 is not where people report them. If you sign up, note your renewal date and keep the cancellation confirmation.
What we cannot tell you
Whether ManyChat's automations hold up under real message volume. Whether the builder makes sense after a week. How long support takes to reply, which is the complaint that keeps coming up. Those need an account and real use, and we have not done that. Anyone publishing those answers without doing the work is guessing, and you deserve to know which is which.
We have not compared this against rivals yet
ManyChat is the first product we have documented in chat marketing. A single product is not a comparison, so there is no category page for it yet — we will build one once we have read the pricing pages of its main competitors and can put them side by side on the same facts.
